E-scooters are very quickly growing in popularity and there are now many places you can purchase them from. Deciding where to buy your e-scooter is just as important as any other decision when it comes to this purchase because you want to make sure you are getting the right product for you. We are living in the digital age and online shopping is becoming easier and easier, but is it best to buy your new e-scooter online or in-store?

At Skootz, we recommend buying your e-scooters in-store, rather than purchasing them online. There are a few reasons for this:

Knowing who you are buying from

If you purchase your e-scooter in-store, you can get to know who you are putting your trust and money in. There are many things to consider when choosing the right e-scooter for you, such as how much power and speed you want, what it is you want to use it for (leisure, off-road, etc.), and how much money you want to spend. It can often be easier to talk about these factors in person with a professional. This can ensure that your needs and wants can be met properly.

Getting to know the staff that you are buying your e-scooter from will also allow you to go back to the store in the future for any advice or questions you have, which can usually not be done online.

You can physically look at and test out your options

It can be argued that physical stores cannot be replicated by online stores. This is because when walking around a store, particularly with a member of staff, you are able to learn more about the products and see them up close, instead of on a screen. If you are looking at them in person, you will be able to see the quality, the small details and it is easier to compare the products. This results in you making a more informed decision and walking away with the right e-scooter for you.

The store may be able to offer repairs

When you purchase an e-scooter in-store, it is likely going to be a lot easier to take it back to the store to either get advice, and recommendations or they can even provide a repair service. If they offer a repair service, they will already know your particular e-scooter and they will be able to help you. If you purchase an e-scooter online, you may have to post your e-scooter to them, which can be costly and a hassle, or they may not provide a repair service, leaving you to source a repair shop yourself.

The store may be able to recommend and offer you the right insurance, warranties, or anything else you might need

Lastly, if you purchase an e-scooter in-store, the staff will be able to talk you through and provide you with important things such as warranties. It is important that you get a warranty as it means that if your e-scooter has a defect or other issues, you can send it back for a refund, return, or repair, depending on the terms and conditions. It can be easy to forget important details like this when you are purchasing a product online.

Overall, we recommend buying an e-scooter in-store as this will allow you to physically browse and compare your options and you can get more of a personalised shopping experience with more assistance.

If you have any questions or queries, our contact details are on our website, or you can find us in our Glasgow and Edinburgh stores. We will be happy to talk to you.
